Tournament of Roses Parade

(02/01/2010)

On New Year’s Day, a child who has been through so much in his young life got the chance of a lifetime. Anthony Alaniz got to ride on our Charity’s float during the Tournament of Roses Parade.

In March 2007, Anthony was taken to the hospital for surgery on what his parents thought was a severe leg fracture. Doctors discovered cancer in Anthony’s left leg. The family stayed at the Orange County Ronald McDonald House for a total of 112 days.

Anthony got to ride on the float with several celebrities, including KTLA newsman Stan Chambers and two NASA astronauts who worked on the Hubble telescope. Dr. John German, an Orange County pediatric surgeon and Orange County Ronald McDonald House Board member also got to ride on the float.
